Activities

Geiranger - a small village at the end of the famous Geirangerfjord. The village has 210 inhabitants, and is the home of some of Norway's most famous tourist spots; Flydalsjuvet, Ørnesvingen and Dalsnibba for instance.

Along the narrow and beautiful fjord you will also experience the waterfalls Brudesløret, Friaren (The Suitor), and Dei sju søstre (the Seven Sisters).
Storsæterfossen is one of the well known and popular routes for hikes in Geiranger. All of these hikes are well marked.

ØRNESVINGEN
THE SEVEN SISTERS
WATERFALL WALK

500 m above sea level, Ørnesvingen, a beautiful viewpoint. 11 turns over the fjord. Here you can see Geiranger village, and beyond the fjord and mountains. One beautiful glimpse of the waterfalls "The seven sisters".

20 minutes by car from Hole Hytteutleige.

The seven sisters waterfall with about 300 m fall height. The waterfall consists of 7 rivers from the rivers near the Knivsflå Barn. History tells about 7 sisters on the north side of the Geirangerfjord, and the waterfall on the south side "Friaren".  Great daytrip with the boat "Geirangerfjord". Buy tickets at the tourist information center.

A refreshing walk from the fjord and up to the  Fjordsenter. 327 steps walking past the beautiful waterfalls. Combine this trip with a visit to the Norwegian Fjordcenter and learn more about the fjord and mountains around us.
2.5 km by car to Geiranger city center (25 min to walk)

ÅLESUND

Ålesund town with its beautiful Art Nouveau style offers many different experiences. Enjoy a walk from the city to the mountain Aksla, visit the Atlantic Park and watch the penguins or learn more about the history of Ålesund at Sunnmøre Museum or Kube Museum.

HERDALSSETRA

Experiences the Norwegian life and Ecotourism. Herdalssetra lies in the heart of the Vestnorsk fjord landscape. 


40 km by car from Hole Hytteutleige.

TROLLSTIGEN

Trollstigen one of Norway's most dramatic attractions. The road is 106 km long, with great views, steep mountains and waterfalls. A nice day trip with further visits to Åndalsnes to see Trollveggen.

 


About 50 km by car + 1 ferry.

SKYWALK DALSNIBBA

Here you can stand on a mountain top, breath in the fresh mountain air and enjoy views of the snowy mountains, the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
North Europe's highest lean road 1498 m above sea level.


19 km by car from Hole Hytteutleige.

FLYDALSJUVET

Flydalsjuvet offers an impressive view and is a good photo point of Geiranger and Geirangerfjorden. Here one of Norway's most used photo motives originates. Flydalsjuvet is easily accessible and is only 7 minutes walk from Hole Hytteutleige.

ATLANTIC ROAD

One day trip to the Atlantic road gives a visual pleasure. The road swings elegantly from islets to islets, over 7 bridges. Nature and modern engineering meet and create a very special experience.

VESTERÅSFJELLET
GRINDALEN

Grindalen is a beautiful and idyllic mountain-valley that belongs to the farm at Hole. Counseling is good and reasonable.
Great trip but steep ascension to the valley. Great view from the cabin.

Vesteråsfjellet is an easy but beautiful hike. Starting from Hole walking towards Vesterås gard. The farm has a restaurant, with good local food. From Vesterås Gard it is a short walk to the top, From the top you get a bird´s view of Geiranger.

VINSÅSHORNET

Same route as Grindalssetra, with well mark trails to the top. One of the finest tours in Geiranger. Demanding trip for mountain people. Is also a registered "STIKK UT" tour.

HOMLONGSÆTRA

Get close to the waterfall with this easy hike. Most of the hike are well prepared with stones.

Laushornet is 1413 meters above sea level and is a rather demanding but unbelievably great trip. At the top you can enjoy a 360 degree view of the beautiful fjord.

Nice trip starting from Homlong or one can take the sigthseeing boat if one wants to go the steep trail up to the fjordfarm Skageflå.

HOLEMYRANE

The trip over Holemyrane is by definition simple. Small difference in height, but crossing bogs
The prospect is nevertheless magical, with the fjord right in the perimeter of beautiful mountains.
On return, one can stop at Flydalsjuvet, one of our most photographed motifs.
